FAQs

Are divan beds more comfortable?

Yes. While all types of beds have their own types of comforting factors, many divans have completely solid bases for the mattress to sit on. This has the effect of making your mattress feel firmer than most other types of bed bases, and reduces ‘bounce’ on the surface. 

How long should a divan bed last?

It is recommended that you change your whole bed (both the mattress and the base) every 7 years, regardless of the condition you think it’s in. Structurally, a divan base would probably last much longer. But you should still aim to replace it by this time for hygiene reasons.  

Does a divan bed need a headboard?

No. In fact, divan beds are traditionally sold without them. However, some people also choose to have a divan bed with a headboard. Though a headboard isn’t necessary, and is down to style and personal taste more than anything. If you decide you want a headboard, they are easily fitted with headboard bolts.

Is a divan bed better for your back?
