Best Mobile Apps for Improved Sleep

Are you struggling to catch enough sleep? Then you are not the only one! According to a recent study, 40% of Brits aged between 18 and 24 say that they struggle to fall asleep quickly. Over a prolonged period of time, a lack of sleep can be hugely detrimental to our mental and physical wellbeing. In fact, the latest statistics show that  48% of UK adults believe that their lack of proper sleep is affecting their mental health.

With the UK seemingly experiencing sleep crisis, it may come as no surprise that a number of Brits have turned to mobile apps to help them sleep. Our research shows that on average, the British public searches for ‘sleep apps’ just under 70,000 times each year. With this in mind, Beds Divans wanted to find out which mobile apps were the best for improving sleep.

This article rounds up the overall best apps for sleep, as well as the best sleep tracking apps to help people with sleep problems, such as sleep apnoea. With so many mobile apps on the market promising to cure your sleep problems, we decided to take an in-depth research approach to find out which app was the best for sleep. Here’s how we did it:

Methodology:

Beds Divans analysed data of over 130 apps from Apple’s App Store and Google’s Android App Store that had a rating of  4.5 stars or higher. With this data list, we analysed each app’s written reviews on the app stores and tallied up the number of keyword matches for terms such as “my sleep has improved”, “effective app”, “would recommend this app” and all other phrases synonymous with the above.

The mobile apps were then ranked in order of how many positive keyword mentions they had in the written review section. The number of positive keyword mentions refers to the app’s overall ‘sleep score’.
