For many, the Christmas period is a lively and magical time of year. With so much excitement in the air, trying to get your child to sleep can often be a difficult process. With this in mind, we thought we’d share the best Christmas songs for lulling your kids to sleep this festive period.
In order to make this festive playlist, Beds Divans calculated the average beats per minute (BPM) and analysed the lyrics of over 350+ popular Christmas songs to find the top ten songs to help your child sleep over this festive season.
Music & Sleep
The BPM refers to the tempo of the music, or how fast it is. The normal resting heart rate for adults is 60-100 beats per minute. Research has shown that songs with a rhythm of around 60 beats per minute can help people fall asleep. With this research in mind, we only included Christmas songs from the most liked Spotify playlists with a BPM of 60 to 80.

In terms of our rankings, we first looked at each Christmas song’s BPM (lowest first), followed by the frequency in which songs mention sleeping, dreaming, and other terms associated with sleeping most frequently. Here are our results:
